This page describes what data Maths Solver collects from visitors to this site, what we do with it, and what data the third-party services embedded on the site (Google AdSense, MathJax, math.js, Cloudflare, jsDelivr) collect on their own behalf. We try to keep it short and in plain English; if anything here is unclear, please write to [email protected].
What we collect ourselves
Nothing. We do not run our own analytics, do not set our own cookies, do not require accounts, and do not log requests beyond what the hosting provider keeps for routine traffic monitoring. The calculators on the site run entirely in your browser; the equations you type in never leave your device.
What third parties on the site collect
The site uses a small number of third-party services. Each one collects some data on its own terms, which we have no control over.
Google AdSense
Display ads are served through Google AdSense, which uses cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Google may collect data about your visit including the pages you view, your approximate location, your device type, and an advertising identifier, and may use that data to personalise the ads you see across the web. You can review Google’s practices and opt out of personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com and at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
MathJax (rendered via jsDelivr)
We use MathJax to render mathematical notation in articles. The library is loaded from the jsDelivr CDN. jsDelivr may log basic request information (IP address, user agent, the file requested) for abuse monitoring. See the jsDelivr privacy policy.
math.js (loaded via jsDelivr)
The calculators that need symbolic algebra (the derivative, factoring, integral, and limit calculators) load the math.js library from the same CDN. Same data handling as MathJax above. Once the library is loaded, all calculations happen in your browser.
Cloudflare
The site is served through Cloudflare, which provides a content
delivery network and basic security filtering. Cloudflare may set a
cookie (typically __cf_bm) to distinguish humans from
bots. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Cookies
We do not set any cookies of our own. The third-party services above may set cookies on their own behalf when their scripts load. The practical implication is that if you visit any page on this site with your browser configured to accept cookies, you will accumulate cookies from Google (for advertising) and possibly Cloudflare. You can use your browser’s privacy controls or an extension like uBlock Origin to block these.
Children
The site is general-audience educational content. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Parents who have concerns about how Google AdSense handles ads served to younger viewers should consult Google’s family ad policies.
EEA, UK, and California visitors
Because we collect no personal data ourselves, we do not act as a data controller in the GDPR or UK GDPR sense for any first-party data. Where third parties on the site collect personal data, those parties are the data controllers and their privacy policies apply.
The same applies to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): we do not sell or share personal data, because we do not collect any.
Changes to this policy
If we change this page, we will update the “last updated” date at the top. There is no separate change log; the previous version is in our git history if you ever need to compare.
