This page sets out the terms under which you can use mathssolver.co. By visiting the site you agree to these terms; if you do not agree, you should stop using the site. We have tried to keep the language direct rather than legalistic, but the items below are the actual terms, not a summary.
1. Use of the site
The site and everything on it — articles, calculators, diagrams, source code — is free to use for personal and educational purposes. You do not need to register, log in, or pay for anything. You may link to any page; we appreciate links and do not require attribution for them.
You may not republish the article text in full on another website, in print, or in commercial educational products without prior written permission from us. Quoting a paragraph or two with a link back to the source is fine and is what we expect from normal academic and journalistic use; lifting a whole article and putting your own name on it is not.
You may not use the site in a way that interferes with its operation: scraping at high request rates, automated abuse of the calculators, attempts to attack the underlying infrastructure, and similar are all forbidden. If you want a bulk copy of an article for some legitimate purpose (research, teaching, accessibility), write and ask — we are usually happy to provide one.
2. Accuracy and reliance
We try hard to publish only mathematically correct content, and we fix errors when they are reported. That said, all content on the site is provided “as is” for educational reference. You should not rely on the calculators or articles as the sole basis for academic, professional, financial, engineering, or safety-critical decisions. If accuracy matters in a specific application, verify the result against a textbook or a qualified expert.
The compound-interest calculator and similar tools illustrate standard formulas; they are not financial advice and we are not qualified to give any. The geometry and physics calculators illustrate standard textbook formulas; they are not engineering or safety calculations.
3. Third-party content and links
Articles link out to third-party sites (Wikipedia, Khan Academy, exam-board specifications, university course pages) for further reading. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content; the link is a citation, not an endorsement of everything else on the linked site.
The third-party services that run within the site (Google AdSense, MathJax, math.js, Cloudflare) are governed by their own terms of service. See the privacy policy for the relevant links.
4. Advertising
The site shows display advertising through Google AdSense. We do not control which ads are shown to any specific visitor. We do not endorse advertised products and have no commercial relationship with any advertiser beyond the standard AdSense publisher arrangement. If you see an ad that violates Google’s ad policies (misleading, harmful, malware-laden), please report it through the AdSense feedback tools and let us know so we can escalate.
5. Intellectual property
Article text, diagrams, and the underlying calculator code are copyright © the respective authors (Daniel Whitman or Sara Lin, attributed at the top of each article). Article text and diagrams are not licensed under a public open licence; the calculator source code is plain JavaScript embedded in the HTML and you are welcome to read, learn from, and adapt it for personal use. If you want to redistribute calculator code in a different project, please ask first.
Third-party libraries used on the site (math.js, MathJax) are licensed under their own terms (Apache 2.0 in both cases). We use them in unmodified form and do not claim copyright on them.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site, including loss of marks on an exam, financial loss, or any other harm caused by relying on the content here. The site is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
7. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of the page reflects the latest version. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of the site are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
